I'm trying to institute a procedure whereby all unplanned outages require formal signoff at least a week ahead of time.
In triplicate.
With the right version of the appropriate coversheet stapled (not paper-clipped) to the front.

@sachaqs - I have my suspicions, but I'm still investigating :)
(just for the record, @fyrefiend's comment was actually before mine - but I corrected a small time offset issue, so our system got a little confused...)
Didn't Tim O'Reilly complain on Radar that the iPhone had no Jaiku app? Could be part of it..

@zacharye - no, mid-afternoon my time ... but I had to call and wake someone in .fi. He wasn't particularly happy with me... (I can understand that).
@malach: yeah timing and lag is odd, but I guess it depends on when O'Reilly's peak traffic times are.
we want to remain the unpopular kids, so keep it up (or down rather) ;-)
