@webjay just to be clear, Jaiku is not yet running on the Google App Engine. We've simply moved the existing legacy service to a Google data center. Jaiku will be run on the legacy back-end for the time being. Meanwhile, we'll continue to work on porting Jaiku to the App Engine as planned.
When Jaiku was offline over the past few days, a temporary error note was hosted on a server in the Google App Engine IP address block. Some of you spotted this astutely! However, we are not running the Jaiku service from those machines and the performance of the current Jaiku service is in no way connected with the Google App Engine.
We'll be announcing on the Jaiku blog when the port to App Engine is ready.
